Tilda is a Linux terminal taking after the likeness of many classic terminals from first person shooter games, Quake, Doom and Half-Life (to name a few), where the terminal has no border and is hidden from the desktop until a key is pressed.

Use the Navigation Bar on the left to navigate the site.

If you'd like to contribute, please see the Contributing page, or if you need to talk to a developer, see the Contact page.

Here is the Tilda project page at sourceforge. However, please send all bug reports or suggestion to sloutri AT iit.edu.

News

New Release - April 28th, 2008 - 0.9.6

Get 0.9.6 here. Plenty of bug fixes for window manager problems. Metacity and other window managers should work fine now.

New Release - Dec. 12th, 2007 - 0.9.5

Get 0.9.5 here. Plenty of new features and bug fixes. Note: Apparently Metacity has started to not be very Tilda friendly by having focus stealing prevention on by default. Feel free to let me know if you have problems with Metacity but also let their developers know.

Got a bug report or suggestion? - May 01, 2007

Please email all bug reports or suggestions to sloutri AT iit.edu, do not post them to sourceforge, unless you want a very delayed answer. Sorry for not making this known earlier.

Weird/Bad Looking Fonts? - April 28, 2007

If your fonts look weird in some way try turning on double buffering. In the Preference window, the General tab, select Enable Double Buffering.

Note to All Beryl and KDE Users - April 23, 2007

If you want Tilda to take focus everytime you pull it down, turn off 'focus stealing prevention' in your window managers preferences. GNOME and Xfce with Metacity and Xfce, respectively, are nice enough not to have this on by default.

New Release - Nov. 29th, 2006 - 0.9.4

Get 0.9.4 here. Plenty of new features and bugfixes. Check out the ChangeLog for more information. Had a numbering jump on accident. Sorry :)
